Without actually working the problems out,.. here are some pointers:
--------------------------
Given an equation in (X,Y) and asked to find:

X-INTERCEPT: Set Y=0 and solve for X
Y-INTERCEPT: Set X=0 and solve for Y
--------------------------
Given two points in (X1,Y1) & (X2, Y2) and asked to find SLOPE, (m):

m = (Y1 - Y2) / (X1 - X2)

ALSO:

m = (Y2 - Y1) / (X2 - X1)

It doesn't matter which is designated as point 1 or 2, you just need to be consistent. Be careful NOT TO DO:
(Y1-Y2)/(X2-X1), you're slope will come out with the wrong "sign".
--------------------------
MOST IMPORTANT: You need to UNDERSTAND the concepts. Understand WHAT SLOPES and INTERCEPTS are. One of the worst things you can do is try to use a "formula" without understanding what you're solving for; you may as well "guess", it'll be quicker and you'll get about the same results.

1. put y=0 x-int=7

2. x-int=3/4

3. put x=0 y-int=4

4. y-int=4

5. m=(y-y')/(x-x')=
(4-3)/(2-1)= 1

6. m=(7-6)/(2-5)= -1/3

set y to zero for x-intercept questions. set x to zero for y intercept questions. Learn something in school. Don't get your answers from the internet.
