Usually, wars are started over some group coveting the land and resources of another group. "Lebensraum" Living room, so to speak. Good quality arable land is not all that common on earth. Earth is mostly oceans, mountains and deserts. Not a real fit place for the blossoming of the human species at our current level of population.

Why would you think that?

War often has to do with economics, which can then and often are sorted along racial lines. It is unfortunately true that one race often controls most of the resources in a given country and instead of sharing it, they keep it to themselves and the poor eventually revolt.

The British- American war certainly wasnt based on racism and most of the wars in the 20th century have been in Africa - amongst africans!

Maybe you are only looking at big wars like WW1 or WW2 (for which arguments could be made both for and against), but you said "most wars" and so must include quite a few.

No. ALL wars are based on greed. In every war, an examination of the motivations always shows sombody who wants something that doesn't belong to them.

Mere racisim is not a motivation for any war; it is, however, sometimes the excuse given to cover the greed.

I'm an old history nut, but I've never read anything about any war that was because of race,
Just about all the major wars were due to greed, or religion. Greed because kings and emperors wanted larger and larger lands to control.
Religion because of the stupidity of the human race.

The older I get, the more I think that race, racial pride, has a lot to do with the start of wars, by one side, or, the other.
