I lived in London for the last 27 years and do go to NY every year for 1 to 3 months, as part of my job. Believe me, London is much more expensive than NY. I spend in one month in NY what I have to spend in 2 weeks in London. Yet, the quality of life in NY is much better than in London.

All the best!/

New York is not really that expensive, you can get decent and big accomodation for a good price

In London everything costs about twice of whatever is in New York, for a small one bedroom apartment you pay like 1,000 pounds per month

I don't know how much should you be making per year for a normal life, but what I can say is that quality of life is better in New York, as far as I've researched salaries are similar, probably you get a little bit more of money in London, I'm not sure though as I was in a low wage in New York but still was able to afford a good place and live a great life

honestly not. You in actuality pay double for each thing you will purchase interior the U. S.. i replaced into over there final December and it replaced into ridiculous! simply by fact it somewhat is approximately an 2 to a million dollar to pound substitute, nominally, you're paying an identical quantity yet somewhat you're paying approximately double. On each and every thing, from CDs, outfits, food, etc. think of interior the U. S. a 20oz bottle of water will value you tops is $2. In London, it somewhat is greater like the equivalent of $4 or $5. Toothpaste, shampoo, etc. it somewhat is each and each of an identical. i assume in case you reside there and are making a "London sales" all of it balances out.

i lived in london, studying abroad, for five months, and the problem with spending money in london is the exchange rate. It's so bad that if you were making $100,000/year in NYC the exchange rate would make it so that you are only making $50,000 London pounds.

It sucks!
