I Have to write a 15 page paper on a topic in the criminal justice field, but I am having trouble picking a topic. I don't want stuff like Capital Punishment, because everyone does that, anyone have any good ideas?

Changing attitides towards fornication and sodomy laws. Many states still have them on the books but don't enforce them.
There are several states where it is still a felony for two unmarried people to cohabitate.

The sex offender list and sex offenders not being able to move into communities because these communities are doing background checks and if anyone has any criminal history including sex offending they will not be able to purchas or rent a place to live in these communities.

DUI checkpoints.
Security for public transportation, like buses and subways.
Video cameras in patrol cars.
Mandatory sentencing for drug offenses.
