I was raised in the rust belt and left for the east coast long ago. Many of the neoconservative ideas are identicle to what I would hear from aunts and uncles that farmed and lived in west virginia, ohio, and kentucky in the 1970's: Universities were filled the left wing radicals, a distrust of newspapers and magazines, homosexuality is a sin, taxes are evil and welfare helps lazy people and so on. Is neoconservatism just a hillbilly wearing new clothes?

Remember LBJ? The neoconservatives have very similar beliefs. The two major parties are now controlled by the democrats from the 60s and neo-socialists. It's quite sad, actually.

no neocon was a term coined for conservative democrats that came over to the light. The only problem was they brought some of their beliefs on liberal social programs with them.

I have no patience for lib social programs so, I am not a neo con I'm just a conservative.

And if you can't see that newspapers and magazines have an agenda you are blind.

You east coat people crack me up! Good God I could never live there. Is *everyone* on the east coast a pompus ***?

More people appreciate what you call "hillbilly thinking" than share your "lofty" political ideals. You lefties are so busy sneering down your nose at the rest of us that you don't realize how stupid you come across.

Gotta love that oh-so-famous liberal "tolerance."

Truth is truth. The educational system is dominated by socialists, newspapers are primarily liberal, homosexuality is a sin, taxation for the purpose of wealth re-distribution is wrong, and welfare can lead to laziness.

Worse then that it is the people who have managed to become ingrained in a system that deprives the real workers in America of the income they truly deserve . They take it and redistribute it to lazy inefficient government workers who will be collecting benefits for life after only 20 years of service and bad service at that .
Its only fear that drives this in the first place . You look around one day and say to yourself how can I secure a future for myself and my family .
Join the government and in twenty years I will have a pension . Then I can work another twenty at a second government job and earn a second pension or work at starting a business .

Many college grads go right to work collecting income that is derived from taxes . They produce little in the way of a contribution . They expect a lot in return for this dedication to the mundane .
For becoming husbands and wifes and having children they are given insurance and medical care that pays for everything almost .
Should you chose not to join them you face Jobs with low pay little benefit and no future .
You naturally tend to drink and party and only in your thirties begin to look and say hey what am I going to do now .
Settle down and become like the rest of them . Sell that singles condo if you even bought one and buy a small starter house in the suburbs .
Except you do not quite fit in with this crowd of conservative neonazi types who frown on people who have been sexually active with multiple partners moving in to their neighborhood .
The women suddenly begin having affairs and marriages break up . Just when daddy is finally making the big bucks for sticking it out in that crappy job for 20 years he gets divorced pays a few years of support and goes on to bed a number of 20 somethings who are chasing a quick buck .
Women have the advantage in this type of system and are the true architects of this movement .
Continuously working to indoctrinate the kids in school and at church that life is difficult and if you smoke even one joint you will surely die and those who do will have nothing because they deserve nothing . Remember to always do what you can to deny these people any kind of prosperity . Do not associate with or hang with this immoral group . Then when you are in charge you can limit the amount of income they can earn and thus keep them from moving into your surroundings and tempting your family .
The wages of a sinful life are upon those who ignore the lords word . remember those people deserve nothing but to suffer .

Well that makes up the majority of people who drink drug and have multiple sexual partners in life .

Those who chose the path of security and name calling (neoconservatives ) eventually pay for this by getting caught like libby did protecting the bosses with millions in ill gotten gain .
