If I ask a trivial question on Yahoo Answers like, "Should I fish, fight, or hold the light" I seem to get funnier and wittier answers from women compared to men. Why do you suppose that is?

Like you said, women tend to have a better sense of humor than most men. I mean, if I were to answer the question you asked above, I would have taken it as a joke, too. It just sounds funny.

Because females have more sophisticated and sensible sense of humor, they can catch some jokes males cannot. That's proved by statistics. 34% males versus 66% females.(getting all jokes)
