Why do we call them super models when they really aren't super?

Because the super refers to their modelling status and not their personality. After gracing so many magazine covers, walking so many runways, making a certain amount of money, etc. etc... your status goes from model to renown model to supermodel. That's all there is to it.

Now if I were to pick a model who I think is a super person, that would be Tyra Banks - she is a wonderful person and great model. I'm sure there are others but I can only speak for myself.

Your guess is as good as mine. I think models are so gaunt looking and really aren't very pretty. The clothes they wear just hang on them.They have no curves or chest and their faces look hollow.
