\lthough it has gone away know last week while skiing i had some shoulder pain. I first hurt my shoulder in the summer when i capsized my kayak and had to wrench myself up with it. Secondly late last year in badminton i did an over hand shot and it clicked and ground. I couldnt stretch it behind my back. Recentley im not sure what i did to it but while ski ing it hurt to push with my poles and it was painful to pull myself up onto my bunk. The pain is totally gone at the moment so i do not need or want advice on medicine or treatment.

What i want to know is what was wrong with my shoulder these times?

Was it the ligermants or muscles?

Are the injuries related and will it reioccure?

Thankyou!

p.s. i am 14 years old and quite sporty (i am not deohydrated)

Probably just a muscle sprain or strain. If you had torn anything (ligament, rotator cuff) the pain would not go away by itself, and would probably get worse.

I have a torn cartilage in my shoulder, plus tendinitis and arthritis, so I literally feel your pain. I know you say you have no pain at the moment, but I would have a doctor look at it just to be sure. When you're at rest, you may not feel any pain, but the injury can recur. You may have torn your cartilage and/or damaged your ligaments. The injuries are all very likely related, but only a doctor will know for sure.

Good luck to you.

Go to the doctor! I've injured both shoulders and there are quite a few things that could have gone wrong.

Your original injury has obviously not healed. You could be causing even more damage.

There are different grades of sprain and these grades represent the damage to ligaments(stretched, partial tear, complete tear, etc).

I'm sure it will reoccur if you don't get it treated. Just because it's painful at the moment, youshould still get it checked out to see what youcan do to keep it from happening. This kinda thing happened to me, only with my knees. Turned out I have arthritis in my knees, even though I'm only 21. Go figure...... doc said it was from playing softball, and running track. :/
