If that is the case, her parents would have to apply because she is a minor...at least it's that way here.

Social security will not give her disability, Being pregnant is not a disability, some women just cant work the whole time.
If your asking for your 16 yr old cousin, she had to be working at a part time, minimum wage job, correct? So the job would not offer that coverage.
She might be able to get cash assistance from welfare I'm not sure. That would be the only way. She is a minor though and I would think the parents would be responsible.

Go to the Social Security office and get an application for disability benefits. Then have it signed by your doctor and turn it in. Then go to the Department of Transition and apply for food stamps and talk to a social worker about the disability. You may get the money. Is she a dependent for someone else. The key is to get the doctor to sign off disability, and speak to a social worker. Also Aflac Insurance (you know with the duck) will cover you whenever you miss work whether it is a disability or not.

You wouldn't get short term disability from any medical coverage company- whether it's a private company like Blue Cross or a state-covered plan like Medicaid. Short term disability comes from a company that offers short term disability insurance, it's a totally different type of policy. I got paid maternity leave from a short term disability policy I had through work.
I don't believe government funded disability covers maternity leave. But if she wanted to apply for that coverage, it wouldn't be money given to her from Medicaid, it would be from a totally different dept.

Short term or long term disability is seperate from your regular insurance. Your insurance carrier may offer it, but you have to buy it, it isn't just given. No, medicaid does not offer short term disability. Would be nice though wouldn't it? Best of luck to you.

it depends on what state they live in. In california, you can apply for short term disability benefits, as long as you have paid into them for the last two years. But he seems young, so i'm not sure if someone that young qualifies unless they have had a job.
