a 7/8 in woman's is not really small. it's average. and no, you can't wear a girls' size 5. girls' sizes run as is. you could possibly wear a boys' size 5 though, because they (like all men's shoes) equal to 2 more sizes in womens.

Babies sizes go 0 to 13, then start back over at 1. From 1 to even a women's size 13, the sizes are on the same scale from there.. "girls" size 5 is literally just two sizes smaller than a 7, just as a "womens" 9 is 2 sizes bigger. They're all on the same scale. A 5 is considered a "girls" size because it's typically a size that a grown woman wouldn't wear, but not always.

The difference would be in boy's/men's size 5. That is typically 2 - 2 1/2 sizes bigger than a woman's size, so a 7 women's would be equivalent to a 5 boys.

You might fit into a boys size 5 1/2, don't think gitls though
