Sorry for your loss. I would recommend The Last Mile of the Way. You can read the lyrics and hear a sample of the song here: http://library.timelesstruths.org/music/The_Last_Mile_of_the_Way/

There are some songs you can find in most hymn books that are often sung at funerals such as Be Not Afraid, Amazing Grace, How Great Thou Art.

Other suggestions : Angel by Sarah McLaughlan, Fare Thee Well by the Rankin Family, Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton, Sing me Back Home by Merle Haggard.

Hope some of these are helpful to you.

Some of my favorites from my parents funerals are:

I can only imagine by Mercy Me
With Hope by Steven Curtis Chapman
I will remember you by Amy Grant
and
if he's the youngest or the first to go and you feel it's appropriate, listen to:
Gone too soon by Michael Jackson
it may express your feelings very well.

I can only imagine - more upbeat imagining what they'd see when they first see the face of Jesus

With hope - written for one of the girls killed at Columbine H.S. - starts with a child starting to sing "Jesus Loves Me" then begins......so beautiful. Helps to express how you feel you'll see each other again, with hope, because you believe.

I remember you - very familiar song and appropriate. Amy Grant even redid her version a second time after 911 incorporating George Bushs' words into it. Everyone should hear that but obviously that version is not appropriate here.

I've done the eulogies for my family and know it's hard....God Bless You.

Yeah, the question is what kind of music does he like? I listen to country music, and my favorite artist is Brad Paisley, and he did a song together with Dolly Parton called When I Get Where I'm Going, and that is the perfect funeral song in my opinion. It's on his CD called Time Well Wasted if you're interested in it.

We had a girl and her family sing 'Down to the River and Pray' by Allison Kraus off of the 'O Brother, Where Art Thou soundtrack at my dad's funeral.
Another song is 'Go Rest High on that Mountain' by Vince Gill off of his When Love Finds you Album.

I am sorry for your loss.

He ain't heavy ,He's my Brother - by the Hollies.

HE AINT HEAVY, HE'S MY BROTHER - the Hollies

The road is long, with many a winding turn
That leads us to who knows where
Who knows where
But I'm strong, strong enough to carry him
He ain't heavy, he's my brother

So on we go, his welfare is my concern
No burden is he to bear
We'll get there
For I know, he would not encumber me
He ain't heavy, he's my brother

If I'm laden at all, I'm laden with sadness
That everyone's heart isn't filled with the gladness
Of love, for one another

It's a long, long road, from which there is no return
While we're on the way to there
Why not share
And the load doesn't weigh me down at all
He ain't heavy, he's my brother

He's my brother
He ain't heavy, he's my brother

I am so sorry of the pasing of the brother. I would have to ask if the brother had any favorite music. and what music groups he was into. if that is too difficult.what comes to mind is Hero by Maria Carey or Robbie Williams with his touching Angels wish you all the care in the world through this difficult of time and may he rest in peace. God bless and take care

Ain't no Sunshine when she's gone (turn it into a "he")

Although saying that, everytime you hear that song again, you will be filled with sorrow.
Which is why when I die, I want only proper hymns, like The Lord's My Shepherd and Rock of Ages.
