The general in charge of Iraq has already stated that there is no military solution for Iraq.
It doesn't matter how many troops we have there or how long they stay there. You cannot successfully wage a campaign in a place where you cannot tell the enemy from the friendlies until you are getting shot at.
This is the same problem that we had in Korea and Vietnam.
Those who fail to learn the lessons of history are doomed to repeat the failures of history.

If we get someone responsible elected, hopefully as soon as the Iraqi military is fully capable of defending the country on their own. After that, our own forces would just be getting in the way most of the time.
If we get Hillary or Obama in office, it'll be whenever is most politically advantageous -- which would probably spell disaster for Iraq and a large portion of the surrounding area. To say nothing of what will happen to the United States.

Everybody (regardless of party) wish it could be done flawlessly today, but unfortunately the job is not done and won't be for another year at the least.
I am not for putting public timestables into the open because it's just going to hurt our troops' chance of winning.

If there is conflict with NK, they gained't be responsive to whilst to offer up scuffling with simply by fact they simply be responsive to to hate us. it is the lengthy term risk that faces the international. the reason you would be responsive to this to be authentic, you basically could desire to ensure who's inflicting the insurgence in Iraq. it somewhat is the area of the muslim inhabitants that prefer the U.S. and Allies to fail to proceed the hatred in direction of us. in the event that they win, the hatred won't supply up on the Iraqi borders. The bystanders in Iraq are forced to help the insurgence no remember if or not they prefer it or not, and from their stand element, this way a minimum of they are able to stay alive.

IMHO, if things track as they should, we can pull out of here in under 5 years.
We are getting more and more help from the Iraqi people. Our problem is they know they can't trust their own government because even the Shiites know Al-Maliki is in bed with Iran. Iraqi Shiites are getting fed up with it.
We need time to help the people stabilize their government.

When the job is done, failure is note an option. If we lose this war than thats 2 strikes for us because we also lost vietnam, 3rd strike and we're out. Not an option.
