i can't seem to find any good tinted moisturizers that aren't expensive. makeup seems to make my skin look cakey and weird so i'm switching to tined moisturizer at least for the summer. can anyone recommend a good oil free tinted moisturizer that won't make my face shiny and oily?

Cover Girl makes one. I, personally have tried Neutrogena's tinted moisturizer. I liked it.

The Stila Brand has a wonderful tinted moisturizer. It comes in 8 different shades to match most skin tones. The Price is
$28. Its available at sephora.com. If this is a little pricey Benefit cosmetics makes one called rebelde. Its priced at about $20. Clinique also has a wonderful foundation/Moisturizer that comes in 15 shades. The clinique brand is oil free and sensitive skin friendly. It cost about $18. A tinted moisturizer will only give you very light coverage. Any major imperfections you want to cover (i.e freckles, moles, acne etc) will need to be covered with a concealer. All of these are available at your local department store or Sephora.

Don't ever skimp on the products you use on your face. That is the very best advice this 50 year old can give. My mother passed that along to me when I was a teen and I still don't have a wrinkle in my face.

Always use moisturizer under any make up and don't ever go for the cheap stuff.
