Because chivalry is dead. I agree with you completely. In today's world, you're lucky if you can find a guy that'll simply hold the door for you. Also, for some reason, men today are extremely insecure even when they put on a billy badass act. Men should learn to be more gentlemenly. The world would be such a better place.
Back in the day when I was single, if a guy tried to give me his number I'd tell him if he wanted to talk to me, he'd call me and then give him my number. If he gave me his number anyway, I'd throw it away. I absolutely refuse to call a guy first. That's his job.

Most people fight for equality. It all depends on the couple and is not an issue for public scrutiny. If one is old fashioined and prefers the male to call then that is their choice and if one is of modern day equality then it is ok for the female to call. Does it really make a difference??

It's 2007 not 1957. Women have more freedom now and it's more acceptable for us to do things that traditionally we were criticized and looked down at for. So put your bloomers away and call the dude.

Sometimes it's the woman that's the more dominate one. Those old gender roles and stereotypes of how a woman is supposed to act and how a man is supposed to act are quickly going away.

You're wrong - by asking the girl to phone him, the guy gives her the power to decide whether or not she wants to.

In a world where women want to feel safe - free from stalkers and worse - it makes more sense.

Then I guess you're also opposed to the woman picking up the check for dinner, paying for the movies.

Basically you want only those rights that suit you to be equal.

You can't have it both ways.

I think is not exciting to call the guy, I think is more exciting to tease them or be flirtatious and then wait for the call (they usually do lol)

Its not your momma's world anymore. I love it if a woman cares enough to call me, unless its to move something heavy. And this is not an exclusively GAY place!!!!!!!

They want to feel as if you are chasing them. It makes them feel better. Some are just lazy buggers.
