What a joke the previous answer is! Does that guy realize how far ahead Pat is on Geno the Husky Hack? Pat is only 54 after all, she shouldn't be near retirement anytime real soon.

Pat is nearing 950 wins this year and is averaging nearly 30 wins per season. Most every team in college basketball (mens and womens) would go fanatical over a 30 win season. It is just ordinary for her.

Not only does her team win so many games season after season, but Pat schedules UT to play the toughest competition throughout the year. Other top programs like UConn, Duke, and North Carolina just don't do that. They only play tough competition within their conference. Pat schedules tons of top 25 teams to play throughout the year.

The question should be changed to is Pat Summit the greatest basketball coach ever period. My answer would probably still be, "YES". John Wooden and Dean Smith also come to mind in the greatest overall thought but no one has maintained the level of excellence that Pat has for as long as she has.

Are youll stupid or something definite she merits to be paid that lots, Hell she has extra wins than a Roy Williams or a coach ok... in basic terms because of the fact shes a female does not advise a difficulty particularly being a sexist!! So what are you saying Canadce Parker does not deserve 10 million money for her shoe settlement while she is going professional!! And maximum of each and every of the the coaches for the WNBA make a minimum of two million or extra, so which you adult males might desire to get your info genuine!! yet ang guy who knows basketball will say definite Pat Summit has a kin in basic terms like everybody else shes gained the main video games out of female and adult males genuine now!! So close your faces!! Yo Weirdos!!

Geno is never going to touch Pat Summitt's records or even get close to her quality of coaching.

I am a UT alum and a UConn grad student so I am around both camps in this argument.

Back when we fired Jerry Green at UT, people wanted Pat Summitt to coach both teams. She's an excellent basketball mind who gets the best out of her players. And that stare is worth a million dollars, and it's running 24/7. I passed her on campus one day and got THE STARE. Chilling!

Nuff said. Pat Summitt is an excellent coach. No other women's coach is even close to her status. Geno wouldn't even be a second place contender.

Doubtlessly. I think right now the only other coach who can make a similar claim is Jody Conradt of Texas, who is a few wins and national championships behind. Will be interesting to see when Gino Auremma of UConn ends up as he is younger than Summit.

Agree. Tennessee is consistently ranked in the top 10 and almost every year makes the Final 4. She is the greatest womens coach ever.

Since she's the ONLY college women's' coach I've ever heard of... OK. she can have my vote.
Honorable mention to Bill Lambeer of Detroit's WNBA team. I know who he is only cuz i'm in Michigan.
