Hypnotherapy is a very effective therapy. I've had it myself & it worked & fast (although I didn't go for phobias). Many people have the wrong idea about it & think it is something to be scared of but it isn't, there are a lot of myths about hypnotherapy - don't listen to anything negative as it is perfectly safe. The therapist will talk to you in a relaxed tone so that your body & mind relax - it's a bit like you're chilling out & day dreaming - a very pleasant feeling. You are always in control, you don't suddenly go under in a trance, it's not like that at all. You are totally in control of how far it goes. Once you are feeling relaxed the therapist can talk to your subconcious mind to find out exactly what caused your phobias & to re-programme your mind with more positive thoughts so you can deal with & overcome the fear. Hypnotherapy can be fairly expensive, but it works very quickly so you shouldn't need all that many sessions. Check the credentials of the hypnotherapist as you would with any therapist & check that they've had experience of treating people with phobias before. You could probably get your GP to recommend one in your area or there are directories of trained hypnotherapists available on the internet.

Hypnotherapy is therapy that is undertaken with a subject in hypnosis.
The word "hypnosis" is an abbreviation of James Braid's (1843) term "neuro-hypnotism", meaning "sleep of the nervous system." However, Braid himself rejected the term "hypnosis" as misleadingly implying a similarity between "hypnosis" and normal sleep. He later attempted to substitute a new terminology by referring instead to "ideism" or "monoideism", an application of the physiological mechanism known as the "ideo-motor response." The ideo-motor theory of suggestion became influential, however, the old terminology of "hypnotism" remains popular to this day.
A person who is hypnotized displays certain unusual characteristics and propensities, compared with a non-hypnotized subject, most notably hyper-suggestibility, which some authorities have considered a sine qua non of hypnosis. For example, Clark L. Hull, probably the first major empirical researcher in the field, wrote,
If a subject after submitting to the hypnotic procedure shows no genuine increase in susceptibility to any suggestions whatever, there seems no point in calling him hypnotised [...] (Hull, Hypnosis & Suggestion, 1933: 392)
Hypnotherapy is often applied in order to modify a subject's behavior, emotional content, and attitudes, as well as a wide range of conditions including dysfunctional habits, anxiety, stress-related illness, pain management, and personal development.
the cost varies on each country and guidelines.

Hypnosis is a totally natural state of mind. When under hypnosis you will feel very relaxed, just like that wonderful feeling when you are tired lying in your bed and you are so overcome with comfort that you wish the moment could last forever. Through simple hypnotic, relaxation techniques you can easily attain this state at which time it becomes easy, with the help of a trained hypnotherapist, to visualise yourself becoming healthier, happier, more confident, a non-smoker. Whatever it is that you want to be!
