It's rather guitar orientated. I am sure it was used to advertise various Formula 1 events in the 1980s and 1990s.

I'm fairly sure it has no lyrics. Definitely not Girls Girls Girls or The Chain. Thanks for answering, though.

I think it only has two revs and then the guitar starts; totally 70s cop show kinda sound if that helps!

Definitely not Fleetwood Mac or KISS. The song is sometimes used in sporting events and stuff like ice skating and gymnastics. It's also used by circuses a lot...

Was it maybe The Race by Yello? That was used for loads of things in the 90s.

`the chain` by fleetwood mac, possibly . it did have lyrics but none were ever featured on f1 racing, dont remember it having a car revving................however the best song that DOES have a car rev at the start is `love is the drug` by roxy music.

There's another motorcycle one where at the start a motorcycle accelerating through the gears is imitated by a guitar, "Bad Motor Scooter", by Montrose circa 1974.

Could be Domino by kiss, I'm pretty sure that starts with an engine rev, & it fits your description.

maybe "girls girls girls" by motley crue, but it has a motorcycle, not a car
