I installed VISTA and just about all my software needed but i cant seem to get SATA controler in. I even did a online search but it wouldnt update.
How important is it for me to get that in?

It would only be important if you are using any drives that use the SATA interface.
I am willing to bet that you probably do not seeing as how it is actually booting into windows.
Any new hard drives that you install on the computer will probably be SATA, so you will want to get the drivers installed for it.
I would go to your computer manufacturers website and download ALL the new vista drivers for it.
