My school prom is in a couple of months, and I have already bought a dress. It's a lovely burgundy/purple colour, but I want cardi/shoes to match it. What colour cardi/shoes should I get? Cos I get the feeling that getting the exact same shade as the dress is going to be difficult.

Many thanks!

You could always dye the shoes like brides and bridemaids do for wedding. Another Idea would be to do some sort of thing. Jewel tones are in this season so you could go with a nice shoes with jewel accents and get the accessories to match the shoes. Your items do not need to match the dress exactly, they just need to flow. You could do teal colored jewels if your dress is the right color. It is all about your expressing yourself and this is the perfect time to do it. For my prom, I actually wore clear shoes with rhinestones on them. My dress was AWESOME and I wanted people to focus on my dress.

Burgundy is a beautiful colour!! Good choice on the dress ^_^
I suggest accessorising with red. Red (or a darkish red- like claret wine) is great for bringing it a little more lively. It's a readilly available colour, and is actually this seasons top formal wear colour. Either that or I would try gold, as gold looks gorgeous with darker warm colours ^_^

I would go with gold shoes and accessories. Get a little tan or use some self tanning lotion. I think that would be pretty. If you are not into gold, then maybe silver. But gold would look best with that color. I don't know what style dress you have, but here are some ideas.

Metallic gold with gold accessories or forrest green(if you want to be spontaneous). Burgundy is apart of the red family and green is it's complementary. Try pairing it with green accessories as well.

The peachy nude color would be hot. Nine West has a patent version that would look great!
Or why not a Black suede?

Go for silver. It will match perfectly and it will be easy to find rhinestone accessories.
