The heater works great and puts out very good heat as long as you are driving down the road and if you are sitting still and reving the engine. When you stop at a stop sign and the car is idling, the air cools down. The heat does not maintain its temperature.
I have replaced the thermostat and had the heater core flushed. Replacing the thermostat did no good. However, after the heater core was flushed, the air did not get as cool. The problem still exists but not as severe as before. Please help. Everyone else thinks I'm crazy.

that may be normal. When the engine is turning higher RPM's it is generation more heat and the water pump is turning faster. At idle, the engine and water pump are not turning as fast so the thermostat will close a little. But even while idling, the thermostat should cycle open and closed and the heat should rise and lower.
If you have a heater control valve that is activated by vacuum and have a vacuum leak then that would cause the temp to lower until the engine raises rpm.

When you are sitting at idle, the engine cools down, and the coolant cools down. Also, at idle the water pump doesn't pump as fast as at speed, so less hot coolant gets to the heater core. Also could be that your electric radiator fan is always running, keeping the coolant cooler at idle.

How did you flush the heater core. I would make sure it was back flushed. If that does not work It may need replaced.
