Seriously, go to your kitchen and grab a paper towel, wet it really good and wring it out so its only damp that is the only thing you'll need.

The solvents in Windex and some other cleaners will leave your monitor shiny like a penny. They end up removing the anti glare layer on your monitor.

Computer stores, such as best buy, sell monitor cleaning wipes. They do a good job of cleaning the screen as well as protecting it.

Windex or other glass cleaners if it is your standard "tv" style monitor.

If it is an LCD monitor, water and a soft rag on the screen. Glass cleaner on the outside casing and such.

If I were you, I'd buy http://www.pixelclean . I'd buy the Deluxe Kit, and it will last a good year. This is an ammonia and alcohol free solution, so it's safe to use on LCD screens.

Good luck.
