In my high school English class we read funny letters Ernest Hemingway wrote to companies about thier products. Like an axe he bought from Sears. Has anyone else read these? Do you know where to find them?

Ha. That does sound funny. I couldn't find much on the web about the letters except this site announcing that Penn State is working on publishing all of his letters in book form: http://www.hemingwaysociety.org/lettersproj.htm

Hemingway apparently also appeared in advertisements for his favorite beer, which would be hilarious to see.

I'll post again if I come across anything new.

Here is a book of selected Hemingway letters that seems promising: http://www.amazon.com/Ernest-Hemingway-Selected-Letters-1917-1961/dp/0743246896/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/104-3316309-0856766?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1173371498&sr=8-1
And here is one on Hemingway's celebrity and Hemingway in the public eye that looks very good: http://www.amazon.com/Ernest-Hemingway-Selected-Letters-1917-1961/dp/0743246896/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/104-3316309-0856766?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1173371498&sr=8-1

Go to the library and take out a copy of The Selected Letters of Ernest Hemingway, or buy it here:
