It will cause mass migrations of people. Because where some people were before in areas that had water from say mountain glaciers, as those dry up so does their water supply and they will be forced to move to live. Also as land becomes arid and desert, as is happening in China, people will have to again move, because you cannot live long in a desert. China is tackling this problem by way of diverting water and planting trees, but that only goes so far. People will also have to move as the ocean rises, because we cannot easily live underwater.

That is the biggest impact. Smaller impacts will be things like worse Tornado seasons, worse storms and rising insurance prices as a result. Also there is a threat that our air will become worse as the rainforest get dryer and thus starts to burn(which has started happening) and less of the rainforest means less co2 reduction in the atmosphere.

You should also consider referring to it as climate change, not global warming. The warming is only a small variable. The warmth causes massive climate change because the Earth's climate is ruled by convection, the sun warms the earth and evaporates water which rains down, it heats air which causes the differing air pressures which causes the differing weather patterns. Even a degree difference causes a big change.

Oh and it'll also have a massive economic impact, as we have to do more to keep up with the problems it creates. There was a recent British study on this.

There is also a positive. The growth belt in the USA will move farther north, so Canada's economy will do better as we will be able to grow food for longer periods each year. It also frees up the northwest passage and shortens the trip from Europe to Asia by I think something like 26 days, don't quote me on that one.

Oh and if we continue to pollute with cars as much, smog will continue to be a problem, and will continue to drain healthcare and kill people(such as asthmatics and old people).

Hope this helps you get started.

The main most immediate threat (whether golbal warming or climate change) is a rise in sea level. Scientists are warning us not to build anything below sea level (i.e. New Orleans) and to move coastal cities back. They call this adaptation. There are those that don't want to promote this logic as it might take away from their environmental political message for all of us to conserve our energy use. Scientists say adaptation is less expensive than other consequences.
