If you have the model number, i would google it, and it should come up with the web site with all the information that you will need.

you can go to the belink webiste, www.belkin.com and search for your router by its model number you will be able to download instructions and software including the set up wizzard.
if nto basically you will need a cable and filter to connect it to the ADSL line. and a cat 5 cable (ethernet) to connect it to the ethernet port on your PC for its initial config.
normally these sort of routers come with a default address of 192.168.0.1 so you can try to browse to this once your pc is connected via the enternet cable.
it will most likely be using DHCP so your pc should pick up an IP address. if you cannot connect to the router, open a command prompt and use the ipconfig command to see what ip addrss and gateway your PC has picked up, the gateway will be the router.
you will need to set up you wireless settings. go through the menu one item at a time and it will most likely give you a descirption of each field. make a note of the ssid, and any wep keys you enter so that you can add them to your wireless card set up on your PC.
the problem with buying a second hand one is that it may not be set to the default factory settings. however some of these routers have a button you can hold in to return them to default

you need to have an ETHERNET cable, thats yellow cable, have the other end plugged to the router and the other to the modem.

then go to 192.168.0.1 (do not type in anything else
such as "http://" or "www"). Then press the "Enter" key.

you will get the router homepage

The "Internet/WAN" tab is where you will set up your Router to connect to your Internet Service Provider. To configure the Router with the settings that your ISP gave you, click "Connection Type" (A) on the left side of the screen. Select the connection type you use. If your ISP gave you DNS settings, clicking "DNS" (B) allows you to enter DNS address entries for ISPs that require specific settings. Clicking "MAC address" (C) will let you clone your computer's MAC address or type in a specific WAN MAC address, if required by your ISP. When you have finished making settings, the "Internet Status" indicator will read “connection OK" if your Router is set up properly

. Setting your Connection Type
From the connection type page, you can select the type of connection you use. Select the type of connection you use by clicking the radio button (1) next to your connection type and then clicking "Next" (2).
• • Setting your ISP Connection Type to Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE)

To set the Router to use PPPoE, type in your user name and password in the spaces provided. If you do not have a service name or do not know it, leave the "Service Name" field blank. After you have typed in your information, click "Apply Changes" (6). After you apply the changes, the Internet Status indicator will read "connection OK" if your Router is set up properly.

you need an ethanet cable between the main pc and the router, the mains cable. and you can down load the software from belkin.com. do not connect the modem untill it tells you to. if you live in birmingham, you can borrow my software as i have the same router.

You'll need a standard network cable (CAT-5/RJ45 cable) to configure the router.

Go to www.belkin.com and you can download full instructions.
