Whats wrong with me?

Question

I feel so isolated and i feel like people treat me different. I am in a happy long term relationship and have a loving family but everywhere i go and everyone i meet they dont seem to like me or talk to me as much as they do to other poeple they have just met. I find it hard to socialise coz i am self conscience.

i wouldnt say i was a nasty person. I feel overlooked and left out most of the time? its really upsetting

theres nothing wrong with me mentally, just no confidence and shy!!!!

You may be in a category that has always been classified as "nerdy" or "geeky" but there are lots of geeks and nerds that are popular. You have just got to make yourself be more talkative and friendly and more outgoing. If that doesn't work, go see a counselor and find out where the problems stems from.

theres nothing wrong with you darling. when you have no self confidence, people can see it; in the way you walk, the way you talk, the way you act, and theyshy away from it. most people dont have the confidence to walk over to someone who looks timid and shy and strike up a conversation becaus theyr worried that you won't reply back and theyl feel silly.
have a look in your local magazine or paper and find out about local clubs, like dancing or writing, or poetry or sewi8ng. something you maybe havent done before or have wanted to try but havent had the curage to before. call and ask to join the beginners class and go along. it doesn't matter if your nervous or timid becuse everybody else will feel exactly the same. when you sit down, whether it be like class at school with rows of chairs, or a circle, sit in the middle or close to people you wouldn't normally try and talk to and listenh. watch the way others interact with their friends and with people heyve just met, and do the same.
honestly, within a couple of weeks you will have made friends in social circles you wouldn't have thought about before.
give it a try, the worst that go wrong is you'll give up, then just try another club or class.

You could join some clubs so that you get to meet people and as time goes on you will gain confidence. Also fitness clubs are good for meeting people too. We all go through phases in our lives when we feel as though people don't like us, the trick is to pick yourself up and move on.

I'm in the same situation as you. Don't be too harsh on yourself and put yourself down before you have even given meeting other people a go!!!

Have the confidence to be yourself: people should like you for who YOU are, and if they don't, well tough! they can sling their hook! There are like-minded people like yourself out there!

One thing you could do is look at what your interests & hobbies are, and maybe sign up for a class in this area, it's a great way to meet people with similar interests. I did this very recently & it worked!!!

Embrace your lonerism. Seriously, is there anyone cooler than you that you'd rather hang out with? Learn to dig yourself and you'll be happy with your own company. What traits would you like in a friend? Personally, I want someone who can make me laugh, and you know what? I crack myself up, a lot!
