For the same reasons that a wife lies to her husband. But I would say that it is easier just to lie to your spouse than to have to get into a discussion that wont go anywhere.
I’m not talk about lying to them for any reason and especially not for big things. We should be open and considerate but for little things it just doesn’t work in a relationship to be completely open.
Like if your woman asks you “what do you think about how this dress looks on me?” come on! WHY would any woman ask a guy that?
Also in a conversation if the woman is talking and for some reason the guy starts thinking about something else and she asks, “were you listening to me?” of course we are going to lie and say yes we were.
I could go on and on of thing that guys usually lie about but hopefully they aren’t lying about the important things.
Girl – You were checking her out?
Guy – No, I just happened to be looking at that car over there.

Cause they don't want to have to be accountable over small or petty things. Us guys went through plenty of this crap when we were boys.
Did you take the trash out? Did you get your home-work done? Did you clean your room? Did you put the papers under the brick so they don't blow away? Did you trim after you were done mowing like I told you? Did you lock the door? Did you put the lid up,.......and did you put it back down when finished?
We have had our GILLS filled with this crap.
Men are natural leaders, and natural free thinkers, and we don't need redundancy in our lives to know that we don't have to be questioned 1000 times on stuff that we would rather just have as our own space.
Men need to feel like men, and it's a lot harder for us to make our way here than it is for gals. I'm not gender bias, but, we like to be on top of our own mountain after spending plenty of times in valleys.
A guy may tell lies about small stuff because they are doing it to be rebellious. It reminds us too much of the inquisitions we went through as boys.

I have come to the conclusion, after 10 yrs. of marriage, that they are incapable of not lying about the small stuff! Sometimes I don't even know if they realize they are lying, but I think it is just a natural response to keep themselves out of trouble! They know they should have done something or shouldn't have and they don't want to deal with it either way!

Mine did it because he was immature. When he lied and got caught, he had all the characteristics of a little boy. But on the other hand, if he told you that the sky was green often enough, he himself would start to believe it.

cause if they tell the truth or speak to much they end up into trouble. they have most always done something that we do not agree with.
