It could be a "low lying placenta" or "placenta previa" .. I had this!
I started bleeding bright red blood at 15 weeks .. went to the ER (hystrical, because I thought I was losing my baby) .. they did an ultrasound, baby was perfect and the bleeding was because I have a "low lying placenta". I then (for 4 weeks) continued spotting brown. It does not affect the baby whatsoever. The doctor said 96% of people who have a "low-lying" placenta in early pregnancy will clear itself up and will be perfect by full term and will have a normal vaginal delivery. Worse case scenerio is that if the placenta doesn't move up (from your uterus expanding as your tummy grows) .. then in that 4% you will have to have a c-section. But you will still have a healthy baby :)
I then went in for my 18 week ultrasound .. and no more low-lying placenta!! it was completely normal!! no spotting .. nothing! it was as if I never had it :)
I've known SEVERAL women who had this (some spotted, some didn't) and EVERY one of them cleared up by term and deliverd their babies vaginally! It's so very common in early pregnancy. Don't stress about it. I stressed myself retarted when it happend to me. I'm now 22 weeks pregnant with a very healthy baby boy!
Hang in there .. and relax :)
good luck! God bless!

I started bleding at 7 weeks pregnant. to start with it was very light no pain or smell or anything. Went docs and was told its normal and dont worry. After a week bleeding was still their but brown in colour still no pain ets. Went hospital and was told no miscarriage. Then a few days later got sent to early pregnancy unit where i had internals was still closed and bleeding was stoping. That night had 10 minutes of pain and miscarried my baby. 4 doctors said i was fine.
No matter what people on here say we can say whats normal. Some women bleed constently and dont miscarry, and some dont bleed at all and do. I never fulled a pad an hour like people say. Im sorry to worry you but i think you should have all the facts.
best is to follow doctors advise and look for changes. As many as 1 in 4 pregnancys have bleeding and 4/5 dont miscarry.

I had spotting with 3 of my 4 normal pregnancies. I also have miscarried twice. The amount and color of the bleeding is something i'd like to know before giving my opinion.
However, just a quick story for you. I was 11 weeks with my last baby and started bleeding heavier than a period. It scared me to death because i'd just seen the baby on ultrasound a few days before that and had grown quite attatched. I really thought it was over and we were loosing the baby, but actually it was just a tiny piece of placenta come off and a low lying placenta.
One thing I can tell you is that if you've been having sex, it's very normal for there to be some bleeding.
I think the best idea is to call your doctor and let him/her know that you are worried about this. Perhaps you can get an ultrasound to relieve your mind.
Best of luck to you!!!

I was about 13 weeks pregnant and started bleeding.. I was freaking out all the same.. but every doctor I talked to said I was in the process of having a miscariage.. Finally a doctor that was the last on the list told me it was nothing to worry about I had delvoped a blood clot in my uterus and it had no where to go.. I bleed off and on the rest of the pregnancy, and although I delivered at 34 weeks my daughter was a healthy 6lbs 9ozs and came home from the hospital the same day I did. If your doctor is telling you it is nothing to worry about then listen to him/her.. Try not to stress it isnt good for you or the baby... Best of Luck.... And Congratulations......

Bright red bleeding is not normal, so if it starts to be that, call the doctor immediately. Also if you start cramping and/or passing clots, call. It could mean a miscarriage. A little spotting is nothing to worry about. Keep an eye on it.

Of course thats not normal you should go to the doctor and get that checked out because you have probably had a period with no cramps and lost your baby.

it may floor you, would be unable to it? At six weeks i grew to become into in the bathing room retaining my genuine area hoping I wasn't having a miscarriage. that is frightening. i'm in week 9 now. those cramp like indicators are aside of the habitual now. It enables to lean in in the direction of the cramp. Breathe by way of it. attempt to no longer stress. i'm informed they're 'uterus cramps' and is by using the fact your physique is now accommodating a splash existence interior. My discomfort grew to become into on the superb suited area, as my genuine fallopian tube "did the deed" as suggested by technique of the ultrasound technician. LOL. is clever. The sac that Bub is sitting in is on the superb suited area of my womb and is turning out to be right this moment. you're actually not over reacting. i understand i grew to become into scared. Take care Sweetheart.

how far along are you? if you're close to your due date, you could be loosing or could have lost your mucus plug. i lost mine at about 36 1/2 - 37 weeks along, and had my baby at 38 1/2 weeks.

As long as your doctor is not worried, I wouldn't worry. Doctors know what they're doing.
