Any p2p file sharing softwares like limewire etc... Will harm your computer and you might end up paying over 500 hundred dollars to get a new one. Instead of doing that why don't you get 500 dollars worth of DVD's. If you will use limewire don't download movies just download songs.

For movies i'd go for torrents and for music it would be limewire/frostwire, emule or DC++.
For the safety part you could install Peer Guardian, it acts as a firewall that blocks ip from certain organization that you are hiding from. ;p
