How is data stored on a cd,we dont c nethin on it except the silver coating,then how ?

actually its a thin layer of metal behind the platic that is shaped by a laser.. so if you use a ball point pen to label your CD on the label side you might actually ruin the CD.

There are circles on cd called tracks and divisons on tracks called sectors. The data is stored on these tracks and sectors..
