I wonder if resentment over this "Top Contributor" thing, will get some of us more thumbs-downs and less best answers? I see so many ppl saying: I don't one! too much competition, this is stupid, n on n on.... Some with the badge r even apologizing for having it!

I know it's not about pts or levels. Someone asked if it's about alot of asking..no, cuz I dont ask many Q's. I think it's just recognizing those that ask/answer alot in a specific category.

Well, I don't have a "top contributor" badge, and I wouldn't mark someone down who had one. A good, well-though-out answer is a good answer -- and surely people here aren't going to be that mean and petty. . . .right? :-)
Besides, is anyone getting paid for this? We're all just on here for fun! (Unless you get $$$$ for being a top contributor, ha ha).

Personally, I don't care for it. I thought this was just for fun, asking and answering questions, not a competition. And that's the way I'm going to look at it, and forget the other nonsense. I'm in it for the fun, and people shouldn't get all worked up about it.
As far as the people who have them? I don't resent them, like I said . . . Who cares, life's too short to worry about this stuff anyway !
For Pete's Sakes, can't we all just have fun around here ?

I think the people that get bent over this are in desperate need of a life. Believe it or not,there is more to life than Y/A!(even though Yahoo would have you believe otherwise)

I like the idea, as long as the people know what they are talking about. I'm not positive how you get the title, but if its just by answering the most questions, then its just stupid.

I really could not care about the orange boxes etc...I am only here to have fun....I know I have posted questions about it...but basically,,,,,I am here to have fun and have a laugh...which I am doing....I need something to brighten my day and unfortuanately this is it....I have a sheltered life.

i think it will cause some resentment. i apoloigize for having it. im not going to flaunt it to everyone. im no better then any of you. i think some people will stop getting as many best answers and stop getting more thumbs ups.

Nah, it's just jealousy speaking out of us non-top-contributors, just answering enough questions to get a few points and then blow them on silly questions. Good for you, be proud of your badge of honor! :)

I didn't ask to be branded and I don't think it is a good thing either I wish they would throw them in the dumpster were they belong.
