my teacher simply gave me a dial, mousetrap and a piece of wood to start my mousetrap car and told me to figure out the rest. I need help on diffferent ways to give power to my wheels using the mouse trap.

i dont know, we competed in a race using mouse trap cars 2 years ago, we won first prize. anyway, we just made our mousetrap long and there you go, at first it moved slow, then it accelerated slowly then finally reached maximum speed after few seconds and got to the finish line first than the others. did that help? I guess it didn't.
