In ancient Greece, women weren't allowed to leave the house without a chaperone. In many ancient societies, it was considered a crime (and in many more it was considered unproprietous) to teach a woman how to read. Until the 1800s, women were not allowed to go to universities. Until the 1920s, women were not allow a say in the U.S. political system. Since antiquity, women have been applauded for weakness and benignity and chided for agression and capability... I remember watching an episode of Andy Griffith in which a little girl was advised to let little Opie think that he was better than her at sports (although he wasn't!) so that he could feel 'manly'...

Is it any wonder that, within these oppressive cultures (cultures foundational to our own), women were not agents of intellectual discovery!?! (Then again, neither is it any wonder that a culture like ours would produce a man with the mentality or this questioner!)It's amazing that women have contributed as much as they have!! The reasons for the lack of female contribution so far are not at all debatable, regardless of what some would impy - they are obvious! And the fact that women, now, are graduating from college in higher numbers than men and with higher GPAs than the men that do attend is testament to female capability. Therefore, if you mean to make the (rather Victorian) assertion that women are less capable of intellectualism than are men, you can consider your point refuted.

That being said: No, women do not think that we have the same rights as men. We know that we do not. Our government is still driven to (if subtle) patriarchal legislation/policy by the paternal view our legistlators hold toward women (a view fostered by the social concept of the female gender role). Although we do not 'have' the same rights as men, we know that we are innately deserving of the same rights and priveleges as men and we know that we should have the same rights. (We will have the same rights, someday, if our culture continues to improve and androgynize... )

"All men are created equal". When written, this did not include women or slaves and not all men but only a very select group of wealthy white men. (This is one item that feminism ignores)

Today, it is accepted as including of almost adult humans regardless or race, creed, sexual confusion or religious belief. In practice, however, it is still quite restrictive.
Men are held to a different, and usually higher, standard than women, whites are held to a different standard than minorities.
All this while there remains a ruling class (rich, white politicians) over which normal rules, laws and regulations do not apply.

Yes, men have invented far more devices than women. 'Why' is a debate unto itself but as was pointed out, it is not required to have a special ability that makes one a citizen and deserving of rights.

A man is not more worthy than a woman because they work harder or do the dangerous and dirty work women disdain nor are women more worthy because of their biological ability to give birth. Without the ability and donation of each, the species ends.

Some women, such as gender-feminists, believe that only other like-minded women are "all that" and more. Many detest men and ignore their accomplishments. Others tend to fall into the trap of believing there is some truth to their lies.
This type believe women need additional rights to make up for their ancestor's lack of rights.

Some men, such as real women-haters believe that women should be in the kitchen or otherwise tending to men's needs. Others tend to believe parts of what they say since society has changed and often not in a way they like. This type believes women should not be allowed to be employed outside the home and should simply be humble around men.

Both are incorrigible and wrong. Neither should use history as a means of denying the rights of the other.

There have been several scientific breakthroughs made by women, the problem is that their male counterparts find out, steal the credit, and when women try and dispute it, the commonly held defense was "this is too complicated for a mind as simple as a womans to have come up with."

There have been several cases where female Engineers in centuries previous have fallen victim to this. So, while you may say that the commonality of women being given credit for their work is minute compared to that of men, it is false to say that women have contributed less to humanity.

Uh, because they do. I bet your Christian too.
As for their contributions, its hard to contribute meaningfully to society when there are males around with attitudes like yours. After all, we have centuries of prejudice to overcome, you men have always had the monopoly on power, but that will eventually go away when some start realizing you men should give women more of a say.

We women feel we have that we should have the same rights as men because of the many things we as women have accomplished not only in society but for the human race. If it were not for women there would be no human race so why should we be treated as inferiors. we as women have more responsibility then men these days. we have to keep order in a house hold, hold down a job, take care and raise our children correctly, and make the men in our lives happy. not to mention we deserve something for giving men life.

Women have the same rights under the law.

What do you mean by contributions, exactly? A good mother raises her children to be good, honest, productive citizens. I should say that's a HUGE contribution right there!

Have you ever considered the accomplishment of your mother who gave birth to you, fed you, cleaned your poopy butt, took care of you? Well, you are right - she accomplished very little, she raised a poopy head who doesn't even know how to write on grade 2 level.

Why is it proper for easily everyone to be so openly uncovered to breasts contained in the media and stay in a porn obsessed subculture, yet bread feeding is seen as indecent and obscene inspite of the very truth it truly is truthfully between the most organic issues contained in the global? in my opinion, it truly is because we are so used to the sexualised photo of breasts. Breasts are genuinely udders, and lactating breasts are literally not many times seen as eye-catching no longer like the form pornography and different media exhibit us to. adult males won't be able to and could no longer declare breasts – it truly is, gadgets that are in reality meant for his or her sexual gratification. obviously (contained in the west a minimum of), it’s proper to exhibit breasts in a sexual way or in sexual circumstances, yet no longer for instinctual causes? is this a justified stance to take? i don't think of so.

So are yours! Do you have rights? Rights are NOT dependent upon contributions they are dependent on being a citizen of a particular political system.

Well maybe because we are smarter than you. And you need to check your grammer. "their contributions to society are minute"...not or minute. That is probably one reason.
