I've been researching in genies and i've found out that their made from fire and are invisible. I have seen many people over the internet offering to give you the incantation to conjour a genie. At first it was kinda interesting, u no, u get to have ur own genie. But i have a lot of muslim friends and they've all told me that genies or Jinns(what they call them) are dangerous and you shouldn't try to make contact with them. Now I've made up my mind that i'm not going to risk it but i still want to know if they're evil or good. I now this Q might sound silly to some but if anyone knows any info on genies then please tell me. Thanks. luv u all for the answers. xxx

According to the islamic faith Djinn means mischevious spirit, it does not mean that they all are. they are effectively another form of life.

All of the 'revealed religions' were sent to earth for mankind and Djinn both. They were made from the tongue of flame but are not fire per se.

There are 4 forms of life according to the faith - Angels, man, jinn and the animal kingdom. Djinn have a form of conciousness, though not as developed as man - but they are long lived and do live many more times the lifetime of man.

They live in dark places under rocks or far away from men.

There are around 6 Djinn to every man and they can be very dangerous - but are not inherently evil (or good) by a long stretch. There are urban legends along the northern borders of Pakistan & Afghanistan of Djinns having married men and / women - so they are veiled from sight but not always (possibly only when they wish to be). They live very much like we do - have very cosmopolitan communities but there seems to be an implication that they live more along feudal lines.

We live on the material plane - angels on the supraformal plane & Djinn on the temporal plane - the nearest equivelent being the sea.

I could tell u lots more but, if ever u chance to walk into a muslim bookshop - look for the 'book of Djinn' - it contains all of the passages from the Qu'raan relating to Djinns and hadith (accounts of the life of the Prophet) with footnaotes and explanations

Oh - and according to the muslim faith the devil is not a fallen angel - but a fallen Djinn who was accorded the status of the 4 arch-angels.

One cannot deny the existence of Djinns and be a Muslim at the same time - its a tenet of faith!!

Funnily enough - this is the reason why the exorcist is such a scary movie for muslims - the creature is not a demon - but a djinn

Depends on the Genie, or Djinn. If you don't know what your doing, don't do it. Genies aren't the pervayors of wishes, though some strike deals with certain people to work with them. There are places on the net though, where you can buy amulets that are linked to good Genies. That's the safest way I can think of.

How do you know when your genie is present if the dude is invisible? Don't know if the fire business is true. If it is you may get burnt. But for what purpose do you want one of them for? It would seem like trying to conjure up other beings from another world as in the other mystical spell programs. Think I'll stick to my Lucky Charms.

Your Muslims friends are right....the best of genies equals the worst of humans. Some people who practice a certain faith keep genies as use to their benefits (such as source of information) but the consequences are horrifying. Genies are from a different dimension.

As I understand it, Jinn live in their own plane, or "heaven", one that the soul traverses in coming from God to earth (another being the angelic plane). Jinn live mostly in the head--with ideas. Let's think a moment of the power of thought and ideas--they can create great beauty, but they can also be ugly and destructive. The person who has not learned to control his own thoughts would be unwise to contact or attempt to contact the Jinn--because of this power. The spiritual master has no need to contact the Jinn, for he has mastered the power of thought and has gone far beyond what the Jinn can do.

Well not to bust your bubble but a jinn in a fire demon that can only be summoned through a medium or Ouija board it is certainly not a genie so stop the search - you should not mess with forces beyond your control.

Genies or djinns, are the name Islam uses for demons. They are always depicted as cunning or tricky, and there are a lot of stories about Solomon defeating them.
