One thing to remember, people want to celebrate this holiday with each other so when planning for this date, try to make the table arrangements fit for a "valentine date" for those coming as couples.
I suggest you have a "nanny" arranged for the couples kids too. If possible, they could be entertained away from the event, like the next room. I am not saying to exclude them but to add the the romantic atmospher and entice peeps to come on a special day, the kids can be sort of "baby sat" for while the parents have a few dances.
One cute thing that could go with this idea is to have the "nanny" show the kids a dance or have them make special valentines for whom ever and then take a few moments out of the dancing to have a "child parade" with the gifts in tow or to watch them dance.
One member here mentioned live flowers issues. As long as you order well in advance, and trust your florest, you will be fine flower wise.
Peeps are used to red, black and white for this holiday. Don't disappoint them. It can be done classy and not cleche'.
They are also used to chocolates and sexy food. Some peeps are chocolate sensitve so when you make the cake, make sure you remember this.
Strawberries with white and dark chocolate are great but remember they are out of season so speak with the manager of your produce department before deciding on any fruits involved. They might be able to special order so you get what you want and it will be ripe enough. At that time of year, Chili has strawberries but they are mealy and bland. My hubby is a produce manager! LOL
Ok..last thing...chill! No matter what happens it will be wonderful and good luck ....love...laugh and live long!

No, only if you let it be a disaster. Plan everything so carefully and communicate with everyone involved, and your wedding will be the most fabulous event of your life. Don't worry about superstitious stuff--your anniversary will always be doubly romantic!

It will be a disaster if you use live flowers. Anytime you plan around a holiday centered around flowers, you'll have to pay sometimes triple the amount you normally would.
Also, are your guests flying from out of town? How many will be working? It may be harder to get guests to come if it's in the middle of the week.
On the plus side, however, you do get to have cheaper rentals thanks to having V-day be rarely on Saturdays!

No. You have so long to plan that you should be able to get the best of everything before others book them. It will be a wonderful wedding. Good luck and best wishes for your future together.

Not unless you make it one. But yeah, flowers are WAY overpriced at that time, so be forewarned. I personally wouldn't want my wedding day to be on any holiday, but I speak for myself. Good luck and congratulations!
