I'm looking for something that will help me with my daily to do lists, contact information, shopping lists, calendar w/ scheduling. I don't need one with email capability. I don't want to spend a lot of money since its mainly an organizer not really to use with my computer. Any suggestions?

A paper Day-Planner works well for me. A friend bought a refurbished electronic organizer for CHEAP at a discount store, and whenever it runs out of batteries, it lost allllll the information. I live off of my Day-Planner, and the best thing is: decent ones are under 20$!

If you want a cheap PDA to try, check on ebay in the "PDAs and Pocket PCs" category. Expect to pay about $40-$70 for a decent, used PDA like a Palm Zire or a Dell Axim. It helps to get one with a standard SD card slot for expansion (you might need it in the future). Check "epinions.com" for product ratings from regular people like us.

Buy from a reputable seller who offers a guarantee if it doesn't work or has problems. If you use it and end up not liking it, you can always sell it right back on ebay.

If you have to have new, but a cheaper one in a store and try it out. If you don't like it, you can get close to what you paid selling it "like-new" on ebay. If you don't like ebay for whatever reason, I'm sure you could give it to a lucky friend.

By the way, I'm adding this later, I saw a cheap one in the store for $21 that does all the functions and even syncs with Microsoft outlook. That should do the trick.

Sharp and Casio both make lines of inexpensive organizers. Royal make some too, but I have never had good service from the royal devices. You can find them at most office suply stores near the calculators. Radio shack also sells some of the Sharp and Casio Organizers.
