i am not surprised by the negative image which some foreigners have abt india. yes, we do lack in infrastructure and some other things like that. but i dont understand why a gentleman said that people are poorer and poorer, especially when he has statyed in india for just 2 weeks. not all people in india are poor. we may be apoor country but what we have to offer the world is something very unique. ajey, i do have a positive image of india. one of my friends is a brazilian. he has spent his entire lifetime in india. he fell absolutely in love with this country because ha managed to look beyond our not so clean roads and our not so rich people. i think it depends on the way you look at it.

I was in Bangalore for 2 weeks on business. I stayed at the Leela Palace which was really nice. Outside of the Palace and the office building, it was pretty dirty. The infrastructure cannot keep pace with the business that is coming from overseas. There are many tent cities. People are poor and poorer. It was pretty sad.

India is nice and the people are friendly. Each country has its own positive and negative points. I think the purpose of travel is to increase and appreciate the differences and broaden our understanding of other people and cultures.

I love India. I went there for two months. Depends on which aspect you look at it from. Compared to America, India is much less (when it comes to cleanlieniess, and materialism....etc....) but thats what I love about it. Its humbling.
