I am very excited as we are doing lots of alterations to our house at the moment - we are making our kitchen bigger, and one of the bedrooms is being made bigger and we are getting a landscape gardener to come in and do the garden, patio and spanish bbq. What are you doing?

just had it sided and insulated...yeah...live in upstate ny...
still have to paint the trim, did not want to lose the architectural beauty by taking it off..
painting the hallway...
reconstructing the entrance to the basement..
ripping up old carpeting in the main hall way and up the stairs..
painting the porch..

we built our house in 1979 so we had the 70's dark brown woodwork and doors, dark carpet, i had to keep the walls white because colors didn't look good with brown trim.

we have ripped out all the old cheep brown doors, woodwork
and carpet.

we installed the new wider baseboards painted a glossy white and new doors and closet doors all painted white. i put down a new short shag tan carpet everywhere except the kitchen dining room we put hardwood. i painted the whole house "except 2 bedrooms" a soft yellow "it goes with everything". i painted one bedroom a soft tangerine and the other one a soft green. the colors look really great with the shite woodwork. we also did some work in the bathrooms.

i love my house now. it feels so light and fresh and clean and modern. we only spent around $4000.00 because we did all the work ourselves. it wore me out but it was worth it.

I live in a real rat-hole. I am painting the exterior and adding new stoops this spring/ summer plus a few, other small things. Next year, I am gutting the inside and putting in new drywall.

Have totally remodeled our home since purchased in 1998. Lately, total remodel in one bath, retiled shower in other bath, replaced old wrought iron stair rail with new wood one and recarpeted and painted daughters room.
