I tend to give the govt an interest free loan by paying more than I need to just for the peace of mind to get some back. Almost like paying a little upfront to make sure you get some back later.

Why would I fear the taxman , I am glad to pay taxes at least it shows that I am contributing to society . And as well to my retirement and charities of my choice .

No reason to fear them unless you attempt to exercise your constitutional right to not be forced to pay direct taxes on your labor. But as long as you are alright with them stealing from everyone...no fear is needed =)
