To legally use it, yes. It's a fairly easy process usually done through probate court for a nominal fee.

To use it legall yes i feel that you do have to go to the courts to get it changed back. Why would you even want to change it back if you are a widow? I would not want to as i would want to carry my husbands last name even after he is gone. I would still want to carry it with pride and in his memory. Course this is just me and how i would do things.
