no. It is physical thing. Winning releases chemicals in the brain that are similar to the pleasure you get from sex, eating tastey food, even from riding a roller coaster (if you like that).

To win means you've played and won, your better than the other players.It can demonstrate to others that you have skill and talent, it can also be a status symbol. Or it could just be luck.

because people feel like they have achieved something and they are proud of themselves and people don't like losing because they fell bad and depressed
