I know someone just asked this question and I agreed with all the answers:) BUT I was wondering this... I live in N. FL and my little girl (yay!) will be here the end of May. It is already going to be in the 90s by then. I have a 4 year old and we are really active in the summer- going to the beach etc. How soon can baby go on these activities? I also was kinda wanting to go to on a mini vacation to Panama City and to a water park while on maternity leave- How soon can baby go?! Thanks for your answers:)

I'm due in May as well. I read on a bottle of Sunscreen for babies that it does not protect the delicate skin of newborns and suggests waiting until they are a little older to go in the sun (at least a couple of months). However, since you are active in the summer and don't want your 4 year old to be couped up in the house all day I have seen (at Babies R Us) an adorable accessory that is to be used by the pool or on the beach. You put your baby in and it blocks the sun and gives them a place to play. It's kinda like a tent. I also heard it's best to use sun hats and sunglasses. We got an adorable sun hat for our daughter that is by Carter's. They have a whole series of dresses and outfits that match it and they are adorable.

My son is 2 ans when he was little I couldn't find any sun screen that wasn't for kids under 6 months. We waited to take him to the water park until the end of summer when he was 6 mo. and we could put sun screen on him. All the other times we just kept him out of son or made sure he was covered/shaded. That won't be the case for u though b/c your baby will only be 3mo. so I would suggest keeping the sun off of her and keep cool during the summer and ask a Dr. about when it would be safe to take her to the water park. U may need to wait until the next summer when she can enjoy it more and your other child is 5.

I answered the last question about this and I say just limit the time the baby is outside..Babies aren't suppose to wear sunscreen until they are 6 months old so they say just to keep them well covered with a hat and light clothing. I would say she would be too young to go swimming or anything yet until she is at least 6 months old so I don't know if thats a good idea to go on a vacation just yet. I would basically ask your doctor for the right answers but I think he might agree she'll be too young. Congrats and have fun whatever you decide.

My son was born in August and I had him out within a couple of days. We live in SC. I don't see anything wrong with taking your baby to the beach, just take precautions. Have plenty of shade so that the baby won't be exposed directly to the sun and don't spend all day. You don't want the baby to be worn out or get overheated. I wouldn't go out during the heat of the day when the sun is at its worst (10 am til 3 pm).

I also am due in May and live in south Texas, same climate as you. As far as the beach is concerned, you need to keep your baby out of the sun, because you aren't suppose to use sunscreen on babies younger than 3 mos. You can go if you like just use caution.

I live in N. Florida as well. My son was born in February 2006 and we hardly went to the beach. It was so hot out and he kept on getting heat rash. It would break my heart because he'd be so red--not from the sun because we had shade--from his rash that it just wasn't enjoyable. It was more of a hassle then fun. One thing I do suggest is when you go on your mini vacation--just take a beach umbrella and lots of water. Hope this helps!!

You can bring you little one out from the start. The only thing to be concerned with is people who want to touch your little ones, but being outside is fine.

frequently any time after 20-24 weeks you are able to experience it from the outdoors. and you will start to experience your uterus between 10 and sixteen weeks pregnant. until now then this is tucked into your pelvis and further back.

I think you're nuts lol :) I wouldnt plan any vacations until the baby is older, like 6-7 months or so. I wouldnt take the baby anywhere until she is 3 weeks old.
