gibson sg which one is the best. 61' reissue, standard, SG-3, special. Major differences? Best sound? prices? thanks

You ask a very subjective question.
What is "best" for you might not be, for me.

Each guitar will have slightly different specs - and you can check those out on the Gibson website.

Personally, I like the look, feel and sound of the standard.

I agree, it's a personal choice. Check the neck pocket on the '61 re-issue. Early SG's were not very robust in this area. The neck joints would sometimes crack and the guitar was difficult to keep in tune. The Gibson web site has the info on differences. Best sound is subjective; which one sounds best to you? For pricing, check out www.musiciansfriend.com, www.samash.com, and e-bay and craigslist for used pricing.
The best guitar is the one that inspires you to play better and more often. Hope you find it!
