Are human beings by nature monogamous or promiscuous? All of my friends and friends of my friends has cheated?

Monogamy is a societal and rigidly religious construct. If you actually look at humans as the primal creatures we are and are honest, you discover very quickly we are not naturally monogamous.

Humans as well as most other species are not monogamous by nature. A recent report (sorry don't have the reference, but it was in Y! science news) states that very few, like 2 or 3, species actually are slightly monogamous. Swans while stay with the same mate, but if anything happens to their mate, they will re-mate.

In many species of birds, the female will pair with a good provider, but will choose a "lover" as the actual father.

Various human societies have different customs like a woman marries all the brothers of a family, husbands have multiple wives etc. Cultures where resources like food are limited will often adopt a multiple husband/father approach.

If not constrained by social restrictions we would most likely act like various types of ape.

Not promiscuous but practice polygamy. And by nature people are polygamous; monogamy is a learned behavior. If you look at the scientific breakdown of males, males can produce sperm well into there senior years, most women on the other hand stop producing eggs by midlife. Men plant there seed and keep it moving....Humans much like animals are here for procreation and that's it. Monogamy is a myth created by man...probably an American. We put a social stigma on relationships and now are forced to live with it..

Humans by nature are humans. It is the individual that makes the choice to be monogamous or promiscuous. It is a decision, not a predetermined trait.

I'd say promiscuous (generally speaking), but there are the people that can withold themselves from induldging when they are in a relationship and there are some people who just have no sex drive. Most people are not momgamous or at least the people I know!
