I responded, albeit quite rudely, to the comments of Mom of 4, who is spreading hatred an homophobia all over Yahoo Answers. The next day, I recieved an e-mail from Yahoo Answers informing me that my comments were innappropriate and have been removed. Does anyone else think its quite obvious that Yahoo has no problem with people propagating hatred towards minority groups, but has a major problem with people standing up to these gay bashing bullies? Does anyone else suspect that maybe Yahoo would like it to appear as if everyone who visits the page is actually in agreement with these hateful posts?

Hey! Just wanted to say a big THANKS to all those who've answered so far. For the guy who asked "Why are we still here?" I was wondering the same thing, and you answered that one for me, so thanks a lot. I'm sure your presence on this sight is helping young people to accept themselves, especially with so many people around here posting comments to the effect that they shouldn't be accepted, by themselves or by society. Thank God for people like you!

You know what. I agree that yahoo allows that stuff. But let me tell you that the exact same thing happens on the religion and spirituality site as well.
The solution, I believe, is to treat each question with respect, if possible. Then you shouldn't get violations at all. I have answered mom of 4's questions as well, and as of yet, I have not received any violation notices on those.
In addition, we need to quit responding to the trolls like Jewhater or Olga or any of his personas. I know it is hard, but usually I just answer Olga's questions with a simple yes or no word. There is no way that can be a violation of any yahoo policy!

It's pretty abysmal at times. A very insulting question was onsite recently, asking if gays should be castrated. I reported it, and received the usual acknowledgment from Yahoo. The question remained on site a couple of days later, so I reported it again (also noting that many others had also protested). Nothing happened, except that a Best Answer was awarded!
So, I wrote directly to Yahoo, with full details, asking them why they are allowing this sort of thing to remain. This is not the first time that I have had to do this when they ignored the most offensive, racist questions (including death wish messages.)
The question has now been removed; although, Yahoo did not respond to my latest email.
Here are the addresses that I used for contacting Yahoo:

I got a violation notice myself last night. And the comment was not inappropriate or offensive.
The problem with the Yahoo!Answers system is that anyone can "report" for any reason. There are so many reports being filed that Yahoo cannot keep up with them and so our comments, points, and even accounts are being removed aribitrarily based on someone's reporting. Yahoo has failed to review each "report" and perform the necessary due diligence to determine whether the comment or question is indeed in violation of the Community Guidelines or Terms of Service.
Yahoo is on the verge of getting a vote of "no confidence" from me.

Yahoo has made it clear that they don't give a crap about this. Repeat abusers post and post and post.
My guess is that some religious reicht faction works at Yahoo.
The real question is "Why am I still here". And I don't have a good answer, except that reaching out to a few teens who needed help avoiding suidide, drug abuse, or isolatio has felt good. But clearly this is not the forum for a humanisitic approach.

It's common knowledge that many Yahoo moderators are bigots and allow bashings of race and sexuality to remain posted.
In response to an extremely rude question about blacks I wrote:
"You are wrong. You are wrong. YOU ARE WRONG."
I received a violation notice for "insulting other participants". LOL It's laughable.

I know. They let people like Queen Olga, and others with homophobia come on and shove their beliefs down our throats, and harass and insult us, but whenever I respond rudely, I get reported. Yahoo should fix this.
