I got tired of Slayer and Megadeth, so please don't give me those choices.

Well, that question is so open...there are so many kinds of metal! My favorite has always been Pantera, if you haven't listened to them than I don't know what you're doing lol. Metalheads all have different tastes, but I'll give you my opinion on a few bands to check out: Cradle of Filth, Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy, Fear Factory, Lamb of God, In Flames, Strapping Young Lad, Shadows Fall, Soilwork, Hatebreed, Cannibal Corpse, Marilyn Manson. I dunno...there's a shitload of bands out there...
I would also check out these sites for some reviews and metal news:
