I am a Turkish Cypriot and we celebrate Int. Women's Day on March 8. This morning I got some carnations and gave them to my female colleagues at the Academy. Then I bought a bunch of mixed flowers, smelling nice and took home for my wife and daughter.
As for lunch or dinner, we will go out tomorrow evening, since it is my birthday on March 9, and celebrate both events.

I know it is World woman's day my wife told me but as a man i do not know what the hell it is all about. Am i supposed to buy flowers, well i do that any way, am i supposed to cook her a meal, well that's something else i i every night my wife doesn't need some commercialised bull sh*t to remind her that one; she is a woman and two; how special she is to me, and will always be

It probably is international woman's day it is also supposed to be "aunt's Day" too did not see that on my calendar. Your man should do something for you to reward you and all those nieces and nephews should look up "aunt's Day " too.

I do, and my father sent us emails to greet us (the women of my family) in our day.
