They are usually crawlers, meaning belly down. How do they flip over and die like that, and why do they have to turn over?

I disagree w/ some that says they can't turn back over. Because I have personally turn regular house roaches over, and they can flap their wings and struggle for a while and somehow get back on their feet.

No they don't go belly up when they die naturally. However, most insecticides are nerve poison that control the roaches muscles and that gives them involuntary muscle contractions. That is why they usually jump until they land on their backs, after which they can't jump anymore and they die in that position.

No. They die when they go belly up.

When accidentally flipped on their backs, they are unable to flip over. So they starve to death. And so you will find dead cockroaches on their backs.

thats a good question, I don't know, maybe they get stuck on their back and they die bc they are unable to turn back over.
