Working abroad doesn't mean that it will be safer than working in your own country. People can get run over, shot, have freak accidents in developed countries as well as developing countries.

However, the trend is that working abroad (in developed countries like the US, Canada and Japan) is much safer than working in developing countries like India and the Philippines because they have better services (EG. Police)

Depends on where "abroad" is located...
3rd world nations are obviously not as safe as 1st world ...
Big cities are often less safe than smaller cities...
Check crime rates of individual cities..

Well, to the people living abroad, it's not abroad at all and it's safe for them too.... :-)
