I watched the programme last night and i am currently recovering from an Eating Disorder so i wondered what people's thought were. Has it given you an insight into Eating Disorders or do you still find it hard to understand? Who is to blame? Media, newspapers, celebrities, parents, peer pressure.....

Yeah I watched it last night and I understand how addictive it can be once you start. There is this need to be 'perfect' (depending on how you look at yourself). The media has a lot to answer for if you ask me. Imagine sticking a picture on the front of a magazine of Denise Van Outen and calling her 'fat'. The woman is really pretty and has a fantastic figure. All the media look for though is sales, sales, sales and unfortunately I don't think people will ever stop buying the papers and mags. I'd previously watched the programme with regards to the young girls at the sanctuary for children with eating disorders - it really touched me and some of the stories were just devastating. So, back to the question - I think pretty much all of the above are to blame in some way or another - all circumstances are different and yes I do think I understand it and the reasons as to why people do it and then can't get out of the vicious cycle. And a big well done for Louise Redknapp putting herself through that to show us exactly how it can damage/affect people. I really hope she's well and back to normal!

Eating disorders are all about control. Unfortunately, if a person feels that they have little control in their lives- they search for something that they can control. Food.
We are constatnly bombarded with pictures of perfect people. What our young population doesn't understand is that those cover models have been photo shopped beyond belief.

I can't help but remember a major fashion magazine "removed" Cindy Crawford's mole. It makes you wonder what else that they had removed. Parents should always talk to their kids about to what they see on TV and in magazines. Unfortunately, it's everywhere. GOOD LUCK with your disorder- you can win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
