i have cable internet and i do disk clean ups and i use the disk defragmenter...but its still real slow? any ideas?

I have done what you did and it did speed up the pc. But when I added 512MB of RAM, it really speeds up even more! I suggest you do the same but bare in mind it costs more than adding a hard disk. ... And also make sure your motherboard can support the extra RAM. Consult computer shop technician for confirmation.

Now lets clean up your disk.
Run a Disk Cleanup 2 times a month. Run Disk Defrag. monthly.
Do a Disk Cleanup and Disk Defrag. You can find both of them by following the path below.
Start>all programs>accessories>system tools>Disk Cleanup. Let it do its thing. You can check every box that has something to delete.
Now follow the same path and do a Disk Defrag. Again just let it do its thing.
Now lets tweak your connection.
If your speed is good I would not mess with it by trying to tweak it. If you do tweak once it is done you should not have to do it every again.

It sounds very much like you need more memory. The good news is that memory is cheap. Check with your local PC store to find out what your options are and to ensure that you get compatible memory.

cause ur computer is slow laa. upgrade it. the processor and ram. if u want to upgrade the processor u maybe need to change the motherboard. GOOD LUCK :D
